Polygamy: having more than one spouse at a time.
Polygyny: when one man has two or more wives.
Polyandry: where one woman has more than one husband.

Endogamy: this is the custom where a partner must be chosen from an exclusive group such as a religious community.
Exogamy: this is when a partner must be chosen from outside one's group, tribe or class.

Patriarchal: this is where the father (male figure) is the head of the home, tribe or family.
